Description
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE CONSIDERING BIDDING. THE RECORD HAS ONE SIGNIFICANT CONDITION ISSUE, THOUGH IT REMAINS A RARE AND DESIRABLE PIECE.
Here is a great 1981 release on the Telarc label (DG 10056/57). Robert Shaw Conducts the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in a performance of Orff's Carmina Burana, featuring vocal performances by Judith Blegen, Hakan Hagegard and William Brown, followed by a performance of Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes by Carl Maria Von Webber, featuring the Atlanta Boy Choir. Double-album German stereo pressing. Includes original insert. Much loved by audiophiles. This is the original German press.
Condition - The jacket shows light wear. The jacket grades at VG++. The records are shiny with light hints of use, except for side 4, which contains Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis. Side four has a deep mark about 2/3 of the way through that causes loud persistent ticks as well as some skips for more than one minute. Side four has to grade at poor due to the deep mark, but beyond the mark, it sounds pretty good. The other sides are shiny with few signs of use. Sides 1,2,3 - which comprise Carmina Burana in its entirety - grade at Near Mint Minus.
Regarding shipping - I ship quickly using new professional grade materials.
Regarding grading - I try to grade by Goldmine standards. I do not use the grade Mint on unsealed opened records. The highest grade I give to unsealed records is Near Mint. Grading here is strictly by sight.
