Among my all-time faves from the era, this represents a top tier psych album in my book. No, the song writing doesn't rank up there with Lennon/McCartney or Dylan; and no, they don't boast a Jimmy Page or Eric Clapton. But that is one of the reasons this album is so special. It's little more than an 'also-ran' artistically, but was transformed with the help of studio production effects into the archetypal 60's psychedelic album. It certainly pushes all the right buttons for me today, much as it did many, many years ago. Simple, yet effective.
