Description
For auction is the TED BROWN SEXTET's, "Free Wheeling" on Vanguard VRS 8515, 1957. This is the original MONO, on red label with silver lettering, and Deep Grooves both sides. It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides complete. The sound is very clean. Aside from 4-5 soft, random, tics, side A is great. Side B is comparable, with 1 single, soft "pop" before sax solo on B/3 ("Broadway"), and 2 quick, soft "pops" in the last 5 seconds of B/4 ("Arrival"). Altogether, the record is a fine listen!
Visually, the vinyl is VG+ or better, with no flaws to report.
The sleeve is VG+ (probably better) with no flaws of note other than a little peeling paper on the lower left corner. It's clean, with solid seams and corners all around. The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics. A rare record, in great condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $100.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
