TEDDY CHARLES TENTET – ATLANTIC 1229 – BLACK LABEL – VG+ This LP is of the Atlantic recording session of July 6, 1956 featuring the following personnel: Art Farmer (tp) [as Peter Urban (tp) Don Butterfield (tu), Gigi Gryce (as), J.R. Monterose (ts), George Barrow (bar), Teddy Charles (vib,arr), Mal Waldron (p), Jimmy Raney (g), Teddy Kotick (b), Joe Harris (d) and Jimmy Giuffre (arr). They perform: SIDE ONE: VIBRATIONS; THE QUIET TIME; THE EMPEROR. SIDE TWO: NATURE BOY; GREEN BLUES; YOU GO TO MY HEAD AND LYDIAN M-1.
I’ve rated this LP as VG+ as there are a few marks on the spindle hole. Side Two appears to be free of any marks, etc. Side Two ha a very light mark on track 4, which is difficult to see and does not interfere with play. The cover is in excellent condition. There is a worn spot on the lower left corner. There are NO taped seams and the lamination is perfect. There is some discoloration on the liner notes. This one just misses the mark of being an M- by a fraction. This the original issue as it has the black Atlantic label.
