Description

Artist:  TEDDY CHARLES QUARTET

Title:   “Collaboration West”

Label:   PRESTIGE.  Catalog number is PRLP 7028.

Monaural pressing on medium weight vinyl.  Label is yellow with black text, “446 W. 50th St., N.Y.C.” address on both sides, with deep groove.  RVG is etched in the runout area.

Year:  1953.

Personnel:

Teddy Charles – vibes

Shorty Rogers – trumpet

Curtis Counce – bass

Shelly Manne - drums

Condition:

DISC:  Vinyl is EXCELLENT with full original gloss.  Has been played a small number of times and handled with care.  There are a couple slight hairline paper scuffs but no serious or audible marks or problems.  Plays beautifully with superb fidelity.  Labels are clean.  This hard-to-find LP is one that you will never need to upgrade.

JACKET:   Jacket is nice VG++.  Front artwork is clean and bright, with a few slight traces of darkening just beginning to appear along the edges.  Light wear on corner tips and small chip at the center of the bottom seam (not split).  Reverse has some darkening and surface wear and a stamp in the upper right corner.  Overall a very fine jacket to accompany the beautiful disc.

Track Listing:

Side One:

  • Variations on a Motive by Bud
  • Wailing Dervish
  • Further Out

Side Two:

  • Etudiez Le Cahier
