TEDDY EDWARDS – SUNSET EYES – PACIFIC JAZZ PJ 14 – VG+ - MONO – JOE CASTRO
There are several recording sessions on the LP. The first was recorded on August 16, 1960 featuring Joe Castro on piano, Leroy Vinnegar on bass and Billy Higgins on drums. Their selections are: SUNSET EYES; TAKIN’ OFF; VINTAGE ’57 and TEDDY’S TUNE. The next session was on August 16, 1959 with Ronnie Ball on piano, Ben Tucker on bass and Al Levitt on drums accompanying Edwards ON TEMPO DE BLUES. The last was in the mid 1960s with Amos Trice on piano, Leroy Vinnegar on bass and Billy Higgins on drums accompanying Edwards on I HEAR A RHAPSODY. This is a Mono recording
I’ve rated this LP as VG+ due to the following reasons. There is a surface mark on Side 1, Selection 2, which does not interfere with play. The rest of the vinyl on both sides is Near Mint condition. There is no wear on or around the spindle holes. The record jacket is in excellent condition, but there is a small taped seam in the bottom of the spine, where the paper began to deteriorate.
