MORE DETAILS BELOW
Up for sale is an absolute time-capsule copy of Television's sophomore masterpiece, Adventure, frozen in time since 1978. This highly collectible piece of post-punk history is a true UK first pressing on heavy black vinyl, featuring the iconic Elektra butterfly center labels and the definitive S-1 K52072-A-IS Allen - EG & S-2 K52072-B-IS Allen EG stamps etched into the dead wax. Cut by legendary mastering engineer Allen Landau in London, this scarce import pressing is widely considered by audiophiles to possess far superior sonic depth, punch, and low-end clarity compared to the standard US domestic release.
What truly elevates this copy to museum-grade archival status is its breathtaking physical preservation. While the solid, vibrant red jacket is notorious among vinyl collectors for showing severe ring wear and edge scuffing, this sleeve is in flawless MINT condition with absolutely zero ring wear, zero scuffs, and no seam splits. It has been perfectly preserved for nearly five decades inside its original store shrink wrap, which proudly bears a vintage $4.99 retail price sticker—authenticating its history as a coveted release-week British import. The glossy black wax grades at a stellar Near Mint (NM), promising pristine, quiet playback that allows the brilliant guitar interplay of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd to truly shine.
This collectible record will be shipped well padded in a heavy duty custom album box (with album removed from cover).
