Hailing from the meanest streets of Los Angeles, hardcore legends Terror return with their fervently anticipated tenth full-length effort Still Suffer. Continuing on from 2022's Pain Into Power, the new album sees the veterans return to work with their former guitarist and Nails frontman Todd Jones as producer. As their previous project pared down the formula to its most visceral and direct form to date, only clocking in at 18 minutes of feral powerviolence prioritised over their more standard beatdown grooves, this latest work avoids the pitfall of being written off as a "more of the same" sequel, instead embracing a traditional old school-style hardcore assault, bolstered by purposefully raw production values such as thin real miked guitar lines (no DI here), jagged breakdowns and gang vocal chants that sound like they're coming from right behind you. Lead as always by the iconic frontman Scott Vogel; his potent blend of bruised nihilism and cautious optimism champions utter refusal to compromise in the face of oppression, regardless of what form it takes. Ten head-caving slabs of instantaneous, authentic, groove-laden beatdown from the best to ever do it. The much-needed soundtrack to our dire times and a reminder that we're all "still suffering".
