Description
ARTIST / TITLE : TERUMASA HINO "HIP SEAGULL"
LABEL : FLYING DISK (#VIJ-6010)
CONDITION (Record/Cover) : EX/EX
COMMENT : Original Japanese pressing of this outstanding album. Superb spiritual jazz funk session recorded in 1977 by trumpeter Terumasa Hino, with some great Fender Rhodes and Fender bass accompaniment, as well as percussions by Mtume. This album is famous for the Harry Whitaker tune "This planet is ours", featuring ethereal vocals from Tawatha, but the whole LP is wonderful, with the sixteen-minute title track "Hip Seagull" which starts softly and slowly and then gradually builds into a stunning slow funk groove, the superb jazz samba tune "Life Trip", and "Fall", a beautiful spiritual tunes with vocals by Kimiko Kasai.
This is a nice copy that comes with its original insert. The vinyl is very clean and shiny. The sleeve is very clean too, it only presents a rubbing wear on the middle of the edge, otherwise in near mint condition overall.
(recorded from the vinyl currently auctioned)TRACK LISTING :
