TERZO MONDO - ITALIAN LIBRARY Lp. Music by ELVIO MONTI aka PELLEUS and NEVIL CAMERON aka VIVIKA. Original Italian promo pressing on the ILLER Label (IL 4), from circa 1972. Strange, psychedelic and exotic session with a fantasy soundtrack feel. If you do not know it, expect to be blown away ;) Absolutely killer mood music and track for track, even better than the Atmosfere and Continente Mediterraneo Library by Alex Serra. Mesmerising arrangements with a hallucinogenic ambience from dreamlike and mysterious to underground sounding with obsessive funk and sleazy rock touches. Tropical lounge with stoned hippie rhythms mixed with congas / bongos / water drums / chinese bells / sea shells / shakers / clave blocks / fender bass / piano / flute / guitar and strung-out fuzz distortions. A melting pot of musical influences from prog and folk with other-worldly nuances to North African / Middle-eastern / Oriental and Brazilian tinged cinematic groove. Side 2 is described as "atmospheres suitable for generic situations, placed in Africa / Asia / South America" but our soundclip opens with the experimental funk fuzz and hip hop of GRATTACIELI A JOHANNESBURG into the Reverberi Group sounding voodoo delirium of AFRICA DALLA RHODESIA AL FESTIVAL DI DAKAR / the funky STRIKE / LA SCOMPARSA DI SMITH (with haunting male scat voices) and TENSIONE A RECIFE. Other important themes we have recorded include MEDIO ORIENTE UN DESERTO IN EVOLUZIONE with hip hop tempo bassline and percussion hits / the afrocentric Alessandroni-esque INDIA DA GANDHI AL BANGLA DESH and groovy sambossa of HAITI I FIGLI A PAPA DOC. Progressive afro blues with hard piano on MEETING INTERNAZIONALE and groovy exotica on CUBA DAL DOLLARO AL RUBLO. Brilliant music for fashion shows and leftfield DJ sets. Trippy compositions galore with cool dub production / bboy drums / loops and samples. Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition with faint old marks from compression with the original plastic inner / some hairlines / light scuffs and a couple of mini scratches. Light surface noises but these Iller pressings were never Cinevox quality, in general. Soft pops / ticks (as you can hear on the soundclip) to certain themes but mostly to the last 2 trax recorded. The laminated sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall regardless of the 2 visible laminate chips just under the middle top seam. Light ring wear / ring creasing and some edge and corner wear also with laminate chipping. Perfect spine / some crease lines to the front left edge and the usual speckled dirt spots cum blemishes these iller / Fama / Pegaso / Jubal and Ritmi e Canzoni label sleeves all seem to have. Still a sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Library Lp!!!
