It was released in 1986 on the 'Geffen Records' label (cat. no. GHS 24120) and comes in a card picture sleeve with a printed b/w paper inner.
Tesla are a rock band from Sacramento, California, originally formed in late 1981 as City Kidd. They changed their name to Tesla in time for the release of their debut album in 1986. The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarists Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch, bassist Brian Wheat, and drummer Robert Contreras who was soon replaced by ex-Eric Martin Band drummer Troy Luccketta.
Tesla's music is often referred to as hard rock, although in the early days of their career, the band toured with acts such as David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, and Poison which resulted in them being categorized as a glam metal band, a label they resented. Over their lengthy career, Tesla have released eight studio albums, including three that reached the US Top 20. Their latest album, 2019's 'Shock' was produced and co-written by Def Leppard's Phil Collen.
'Mechanical Resonance' is the debut album by Tesla, released in 1986 on the 'Geffen Records' label and produced by Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero. It peaked at #32 on the US Billboard '200' chart and was certified Platinum three years later. All the tracks on the album were written by the band, except for 'Little Suzi', a cover of the song 'Little Suzi's On The Up, a 1982 hit by UK new wave band Ph.D. (which featured singer Jim Diamond). It was released as the second single from 'Mechanical Resonance', and broke in to the US Billboard 'Hot 100' chart at #91.
The album is near-mint, and the vinyl appears unmarked and is unplayed. The sleeve is in very good condition, with only very minimal signs of wear due to shelf storage. The shrinkwrap is intact, except for the open end.
