THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS Rolling Stones UK DECCA MONO 1st GROOVED 2A/1A
Thank Your Lucky Stars, Vol. 2.
Scarce early 1960's Beat/Pop compilation LP which features the early Rolling Stones track "Come On".Original 1963 UK pressed Decca Records mono LP, LK 4554.
Earliest red and silver grooved label issue with 2A/1A matrix suffixes.
Visually vinyl is in top end very good plus condition. There are only a very few spider trace marks visible at the centre spindle areas. The playing surfaces still have a rich and bright gloss, although display just enough light hairline marks and scuffs to escape an EX grade. None of these is really obviously visible and there are no deep marks or scratches. General appearance is of a carefully played LP.
Playback is surprisingly clean and bright and grades nearer EX to EX plus. The surfaces are nice and quiet and there is no obvious background crackle nor any ticks or clicks. Sound is rich and bright and not distorted. The odd moment of very low level and short-lived crackle here and there, but this mainly at separator bands and very rarely heard during actual tracks. All in all provides solid listening pleasure throughout.
Labels still have a good unrubbed lustre but have sticker damage which is fairly self-evident from the photos.
Inner sleeve is original and close to EX.
External sleeve is in generally clean and bright condition and although showing signs of age has not yet become worn or tatty. Grades around VG plus. Front and rear panels are free of pen or sticker marks. A few imperfections to the front laminate. Very slight ringwear impression and creasing. A few light pinch line creases leading into front panel from spine. Else spine, edges and entry side all neat and tidy with no fraying or seam splitting.
All in all a fairly nice and tidy issue with nice audio quality.
