John McAfee (vocals, guitar), Jeff Kerscher (vocals, keyboards), Steve Edwards (bass), Steve "Sid" Siddall (drums) AOR Album-oriented rock. The Affair First Bite 1987/1988 In the beginning...From the very beginning, The Affair was a spin-off of a popular Toledo, Ohio act called High Society. High Society was on the top of the Northwest club circuit in 1985 when they were featured on MTV's "Basement Tapes" which was a program dedicated to the best U.S. unsigned acts. Due to High Society members wanting to explore other directions, bassist Steve Edwards and guitarist John McAfee started another band, which focused more on guitar and vocal ability, rather than the keyboard driven band they were previously a part of. Thus in 1988, The Affair became a reality.
