Description

The Allman Brothers Band - Self-titled First LP, Original PROMO (Radio DJ) Stereo First Pressing:
Given their place in the history of Southern Rock, it's very, very hard to imagine a time when the national audience hadn't yet heard of the Allman Brothers Band.  Yet that's the way the world was in 1969.  This LP, the Allman Brothers Band's first release, was sent out that year to promote the unheard-of band to radio stations nationwide.  Today it's a very rare record.  This release is also notable for having the band's original lineup of musicians - AND their original sound!
This is ATCO # SD 33-308, with white (promo-only) labels on both sides, featuring the "Sample Copy Not For Sale" imprint on both sides.  ATCO was a division of Atlantic Records.  I got this promo copy at a used record store in Los Angeles, over 40 years ago, and it's been in dry, indoor storage since I bought it.
The record itself shows some marks of having been played, but looks to be in good playable condition overall.  The front of the outer cover is messy - probably because somebody before me peeled off the original "promo-copy" sticker.  The outer cover also shows general wear, but the inside of the cover (with the band in a creek) is in good condition.  There's a small (2") split at the top of the cover.  The original ATCO Records inner sleeve is in very good condition, with light yellowing from age.  The sleeve shows other ATCO records of the time on both sides.  Hopefully you'll enjoy adding this rare Allman Brothers promo album to your collection!
Shipping will be by USPS "Media Mail", and that there's no sales tax.  Please see other record listings and stay tuned for future listings. Many items yet to come, mainly rock and psych, including radio, DJ, and promo releases.  Many 45s as well as LPs.  Thanks for your interest!
