1970/UK/Bell Records SBLL 131…..here’s a gorgeous original UK pressing of this ultra rare withdrawn acid folk psych lp. The fragile fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse cover is in solid clean VG++ condition with light corner wear on top, lower corners are lightly bumped and show light wear(see pictures), there is minor light shelf wear more so on the back, there is slight wear spots on edges and there is wear at the opening lower edge(see pictures), the spine is clean and fully legible and overall the cover is clean and solid with no splits, writing or other issues. The vinyl is in glossy M- like condition. I suspect it was seldom played if at all. The record looks and plays clean with clean crisp fidelity. The labels are clean with no spindle marks! Original first pressing A-1U and B-1U Matrix numbers. A very rare find in this gorgeous condition! Keeper Kopy here! Please check my auctions for other rock, folk, psych and prog lp’s. AMAZING BLONDEL existed throughout the early seventies. Originally formed by John David GLADWIN, Terry WINCOTT and Eddie BAIRD after leaving another even more obscure band called METHUSELAH. For these three, the band was essentially a three piece singing and playing krumhorns, recorders, lute, theorbo, guitars, dulcimers, flute, piano, harpsichord, mellotron, organ, tabor, cittern tubular, bells, glockenspiel and percussion. English mostly acoustic 1969-76. Middle-age renaissance guitar, organ and other instruments, multipart harmony vocals, etc., bordering on the prog movement in England at the time.Their first album The Amazing Blondel (also called "Amazing Blondel and a Few Faces,") was recorded in 1969 and released by Bell Records. It was directed by session guitarist Big Jim Sullivan. At about this time, Eddie Baird (who had known the other members at school) joined the band.
