Description
Offered is this beautiful copy of the Apollos 45 "Target Love" b/w "It's a Monster", released in 1966 on Montgomery Records, 0011/0012.
I grade this record as near mint (M-). It was unplayed store stock when I got it years ago, and has only been played a few times.
It is important to be aware that this record was poorly mastered and pressed, the over modulation of the grooves create occasional sibilance (hissing) and whoosh noises. As far as I know, every copy of this record has this problem. If you listen to the same songs on YouTube, you will hear those noises there too. You might want to view the description of this record's problems on an eBay listing that was archived on the Popsike site, the date was October 29, 2013. The seller describes the problem in detail.
The following sound files are from the exact record that is offered. The first two have no processing or filtering to improve the sound or hide any issues. The third is Target Love with a low pass filter applied that does improve the sound, but doesn't completely remove the issues.
A-side (Target Love):
Sound Clip.
B-side (It's A Monster):
Sound Clip.
A-side (Target Love) with low-pass filtering:
This record will be triple sleeved, and shipped in a standard 45 mailer with filler pads on each side.
