Description
Nice copy of the 1968 true fist pressing of The Band's Music From Big Pink LP on Capitol SKAO-2955. Original rainbow labels with the asterisk, indicating a Los Angeles pressing. This is the very rare original version of the cover, with Bob Dylan's initials at the bottom, but no "1968" copyright date. Very hard to find this earliest version of the cover. The disc does have some scuffs and light marks but they are mostly superficial. I had it ultrasonically cleaned and it plays remarkably well. There are moments with slight background crackle but mainly only between some songs. Most of the way through it plays near perfectly, much better than it looks. It doesn't look bad but there are some marks, as I said. The cover is in lovely condition, with just a bit of light corner an edgewear, mainly at the upper left. No seam splits, or even ringwear. Rather a beautiful cover. This is a very nice original copy.
