Description

Very lovely copy of the 1969 first pressing of the Band’s self-titled “brown album” on Capitol STAO-132. Original green labels and textured gatefold cover. "RL" in the runout on both sides, indicating a Robert Ludwig mastering, which many say is the best sounding pressing. This copy is lovely. The disc has a few minor superficial scuffs, but they don't affect the play in the least. Really the disc plays near perfectly, and just beautifully. The cover is nearly perfect, with just a tiny bit of edge whitening but barely. Also a little spotting on the right panel of the inside gatefold. Not bad. Still really an exceptionally nice looking copy, one of the best originals I have ever seen. Most originals are way more worn than this one. This is truly a lovely original copy, hard to beat.
