Description

Beautiful copy of the 1969 first pressing of the Band’s self-titled “brown album” on Capitol STAO-132. Original green labels and textured gatefold cover. "RL" in the runout on both sides, indicating a Robert Ludwig mastering, which many say is the best sounding pressing. This copy is lovely. The disc has some of those superficial streaks and spots that form over time from the acid in the paper sleeve, but it isn't damage at all. Really the disc is near perfect, and plays near flawlessly and just beautifully. This streaking is visible but not audible. The cover is quite lovely as well, with just a little bit of edge whitening and three lightly rubbed corners. Really an exceptionally nice looking copy. Most originals are way more worn than this one. This is truly a top copy, hard to beat.
