BEACH BOYS - ENDLESS SUMMER - This was the album by which millions of sons of late baby boomers (and sons and daughters of the early ones) first really discovered the Beach Boys, beyond hearing the occasional oldie on the radio. It was the summer of 1974, and the Beach Boys were still trying to get themselves back on track commercially after a seven-year commercial dry spell, when this double LP of their 1963-1966 material (all but one cut predating Pet Sounds) came along and did the job. Endless Summer, which was assembled in consultation with Mike Love, soared to number one and charted high over two subsequent summers and attracted the enthusiastic attention of millions of listeners too young to have bought their singles back when." – All Music Guide

PACIFIC OCEAN BLUE - In 1977, Dennis Wilson launched Pacific Ocean Blue, the first solo LP by a member of the world-famous Beach Boys. Amazingly, Dennis – the band's drummer, surfer and all-around free spirit – emerged from the shadow of his older brothers, pop genius Brian Wilson, and shocked the world by creating a heartfelt body of work unlike anything the Beach Boys had ever produced. More than 30 years later, Pacific Ocean Blue remains one of the most intoxicating solo showcases by a Wilson brother.

BRIAN WILSON'S - GETTING IN OVER MY HEAD - The creative genius behind The Beach Boys’ phenomenal hit recordings of course was Brian Wilson. This is his first solo studio album since ’98 and features superstar guests Eric Clapton, Elton John and Paul McCartney. Brian Wilson is widely considered the greatest American-born popular music composer of the rock ‘n’ roll era. On this, his third solo release, the legendary artist returns to stellar melodic form with these original compositions and unforgettable performances.

There have been so few vinyl LPs produced over the last 5 years that you should never pass up the opportunity to upgrade your collection. They're each very limited in their pressings and disappear with extraordinary quickness from the vinyl market. This causes prices to skyrocket because once they are gone, they are gone forever! Don't second-guess yourself with this chance to upgrade your collection because before you know it, the opportunity will have passed forever.

BRIAN WILSON PRESENTS SMILE - The Greatest Album That Never Was finally is. The Beach Boys' uncompleted 1967 album SMILE has remained the elusive touchstone of Brian Wilson's brilliant, star-crossed career for decades. Artistic Holy Grail and troubling professional Waterloo for Wilson, a tantalizing prism of unfulfilled promise to his loyal cadre of fans, its story has become pop music's Rashomon. Finally completed via spring 2004 recordings with his stellar, longtime touring band (none of the original '60s sessions were used, though they've been recreated here with often stunning authenticity), it's arguably as alien to contemporary pop as it might have seemed in its intended '67 context--even to ears freshly primed by the glories of Pet Sounds.

Collaborator Van Dyke Parks's impressionistic, often mischievous lyrics conjure a collage of arcane 19th century Americana that's equal parts artful ellipse and aloof nostalgia. But wed to Wilson's innovative composition and recording techniques (echoing beat author William Burroughs's fabled cut 'n' paste methodology and exemplified by the modular "Good Vibrations"), the resulting semisuite confections challenge the boundaries of both song and album form, but with an insouciant charm that's as different from Pet Sounds as that landmark was from "I Get Around." Turns out those hypothetical comparisons to Sgt. Pepper's weren't so far off the mark.

Tracks include:  Our Prayer/Gee - Heroes and Villians - Roll Plymouth Rock - Barnyard - Old Master Painter/You Are My SunShine - Cabin Essence - Wonderful - Song For Children - Child Is Father To The Man - Surf's Up - I'm In Great Shape/I Wanna Be Around/Workshop - Vega-Tables - On A Holiday - Wind Chimes - Mrs. O'Learyi's Cow - In Blue Hawaii - Good Vibrations

The Ultimate Pressings of the Beach Boys Discography from Analogue Productions!

A musical legacy that began in Hawthorne, California and went on to conquer the world. Analogue Productions presents the ultimate pressings of 14 essential Beach Boys albums! Mastered by Kevin Gray, most from the original master tapes, and plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings, the finest LP pressing facility in the world, these are awesome recordings to experience. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in "old school" Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time honored favorites shine brighter than the originals!

Surfin' USA was the Beach Boys' real breakthough album, showing Brian Wilson asserting himself in the studio as both a premier songwriter and arranger on a set of material that was stronger than their Surfin' Safari debut.

Apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master.

The stereo editions of Surfin' USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Shut Down Vol. 2, All Summer Long, Beach Boys Christmas Album and Beach Boys Concert were all mixed in stereo by their own preferred engineer, Chuck Britz, ostensibly under the group's supervision.

"Brian may or may not have been present for those mixing sessions — evidence suggests that he trusted Chuck's skills enough to let him prepare those mixes on his own — but the group held onto their multitrack tapes and delivered stereo masters to Capitol, rather than allowing Capitol to prepare their own stereo versions. Later, when Brian was only delivering mono masters, Capitol would prepare the Duophonic pseudo stereo editions for the stereo market," says Alan Boyd, producer and Beach Boys' archivist.

The Beach Boys' practice of double-tracking their vocals really lends itself to stereo mixes. Split left and right, as they are on a lot of those early stereo versions, those doubled vocal parts can really envelop the listener, surrounding them with Wilsons, Loves and Jardines!

All of the newer stereo mixes on these remastered albums (The Beach Boys Today!, Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!), The Beach Boys' Party, Pet Sounds and Smiley Smile) were all done by Mark Linett on behalf of the Beach Boys.

Besides the hit title track on Surfin' USA and its popular drag-racing flip side ("Shut Down"), AllMusic.com notes that Surfin' USA has a lovely, heartbreaking ballad ("Lonely Sea") and a couple of strong Brian Wilson originals ("The Noble Surfer" and "Farmer's Daughter").

"There are also a surprisingly high quotient of instrumentals (five) that demonstrate that...the Beach Boys could play respectably gutsy surf rock as a self-contained unit. Indeed, the album as a whole is the best they would make, prior to the late '60s, as a band that played most of their instruments, rather than as a vehicle for Brian Wilson's ideas. The LP was a huge hit, vital to launching surf music as a national craze, and one of the few truly strong records to be recorded by a self-contained American rock band prior to the British Invasion."

Surfer Girl, the Beach Boys' third album for Capitol Records, was the first produced by Brian Wilson on his own (the previous two, Surfin Safari and Surfin Usa (Mono & Stereo Remasters), were co-produced by the late Capitol A&R man, Nik Venet). This album was The Boys' first really great effort; there's not a bad track in the lot, including the title song, "Catch A Wave," "In My Room," "Hawaii," "Our Car Club," "Little Deuce Coupe," "Your Summer Dream," and more.

Apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master.

Released just one month after the Surfer Girl album, Little Deuce Coupe was, incredibly, the Beach Boys' fourth album in less than a year. Brian Wilson and the band responded by turning in arguably their most consistent effort to date — and a concept album, to boot.

Little Deuce Coupe expanded the band's subject matter to encompass 1963 America's burgeoning love affair with hot rods, surrounding previously released cuts such as the title track, "409," and others with strong new material (much of it cowritten by Wilson and a DJ, Roger Christian). A highpoint: the a cappella James Dean tribute "A Young Man Is Gone" (a reworking of Bobby Troup's beautiful "Their Hearts Were Full of Spring"), a prime example of Wilson's arranging genius and the band's vocal prowess. "Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring" had been a standard for the vocal group The Four Freshmen, whose lush and distinctive jazz-based vocal arrangements had a huge influence on Brian's musical development.

Apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master.

PET SOUNDS - 180 GRAM TREMENDOUSLY RARE SIMPLY VINYL UK PRESSING - OUT OF PRINT FOR OVER A DECADE

This has to be one of the all-time greatest albums by one of the most creative groups ever. Why? Well try such phenomenal breathtaking classics as “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” (No.8 US ’66), “Sloop John B” (No.2 UK, No.3 US ’66) and the truly timeless beautiful “God Only Knows” (No.2 UK, No.39 US ’66) - each and every one being a gem and as such easily put the Beach Boys into the same creative stratosphere as the Beatles.

PET SOUNDS is the album which managed to transcend the Beach Boys from a bunch of sun-drenched beach bums to west coast musical geniuses in one fell swoop. In fact, Brian Wilson himself actively credits the Beatles RUBBER SOUL as being the catalyst for the standard of work achieved on PET SOUNDS. Listening to the album again on 180 gram vinyl for the first time in years, it’s obvious that “Pet Sounds” is one of the masterpieces of the millennium.

Tracks include: Wouldn't It Be Nice - You Still Believe In Me - That's Not Me - Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) - I'm Waiting For The Day - Let's Go Away For A While - Sloop John B - God Only Knows - I Know There's An Answer - Here Today - I Just Wasn't Made For These Times - Pet Sounds - Caroline No - Hang On To Your Ego (Bonus Track)

SMILEY SMILE -

THE BEACH BOYS - SMILEY SMILE - 180 Gram Limited Edition Simply Vinyl classic LP (made in England - has the best protective packaging I’ve seen) high-definition Virgin Vinyl pressing for superior fidelity. The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and your ears. The ultimate record -- the way music was meant to be heard and of superior quality.

The

follow-up to such a classic as PET SOUNDS- is the legendary SMILEY SMILE. Even attempting to follow up the brilliance of PET SOUNDS would be a tough mission for anyone, let alone the Beach Boys!. Add into the equation the astounding array of mind-bending drugs which were around at the time and the descent into weirdness which affected the Beach Boys resident genius Brian Wilson and we have all the ingredients of an A#1disaster. Well, make no mistake about it, there is little doubt that the Beach Boys lost their former Surfing audience and exchanged them for a new generation of stoners.

Containing the magnificent "Good Vibrations" (No.1 UK, No.1 US '66) and the audacious "Heroes and Villains" (No.9 UK, No.12 US '67), SMILEY SMILE is definitely an album of some very weird and wonderful times.

Other tracks include:  Vegetables - Fall Breaks and Back To Winter - She's Goin' Bald - Little Pad - With Me Tonight - Wind Chimes - Getting Hungry - Wonderful - Whistle In

Needless to say, it sounds absolutely superb on beautiful 180 gram vinyl - as it was meant to be heard.

WILD HONEY -

The third album in the trilogy of brilliant Beach Boys albums which started with PET SOUNDS (SVLP149), went on to SMILEY SMILE (SVLP219) and now finishes with the excellent WILD HONEY (No.7 UK, No.24 US ’68). This album once again shows off Brian Wilson’s extraordinary talent for song writing and production via both the severely under-rated “Wild Honey” (No.29 UK, No.31 US ’67) and the brilliant “Darling” (No.19 US ’67, No.11 UK ’68). Aside from all the other gems on this album, it also features the original version of “Here Come The Night” which they later re-recorded and released for their venture into the world of disco music.

Even though WILD HONEY has often been written off as a ‘back to basics’ album and was recorded in Brian Wilson’s living room, it is still an excellent yardstick of the band’s history in one of their most turbulent periods. Plus, it’s still the Beach Boys AND on 180 gram vinyl which makes it a ‘must-have’ purchase anyway!!

Tracks include: Wild Honey - Aren't You Glad - I Was Made To Love Her - Country Air - A Thing Or Two Darlin' - I'd Love Just Once To See You - Here Comes The Night - Let The Wind Blow - How She Boogalooed It - Mama Says

The Beach Boys Surfin' Safari 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION Import LP + Bonus CD

Debut 1962 Album! Includes Rarities from the 1961-62 Candix Studio Sessions! Featuring the Hits "Surfin'" & "409"!

Their classic songs epitomize the spirit of the California lifestyle and The Beach Boys have become an American icon to a worldwide audience. The Beach Boys’ first hit “Surfin’” (1961) launched a string of chart-topping songs that spans nearly forty years and includes eternal anthems of American youth: “Surfin’ USA”, “Surfer Girl”, “Fun, Fun, Fun”, “I Get Around”, “California Girls”, “Help Me Rhonda”, “Barbara Ann”, “Good Vibrations”, ”Wouldn’t It Be Nice”, “Rock and Roll Music”, “Kokomo” and more.

Their chart success alone would have earned The Beach Boys their spot in The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame (they were inducted in 1988), not to mention 32 RIAA Platinum and Gold record awards and worldwide sales estimated at over 100 million. But The Beach Boys' story is one of not only commercial but also artistic success. Their unique blend of harmonies, musical arrangements and timeless lyrics still place the music of The Beach Boys among the All-Time Favorites of today’s music critics. The Beach Boys were honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards, receiving The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy.

Surfin' Safari is their debut studio album, released on October 1, 1962 on Capitol. Surfin' Safari peaked at number 32 in its 37-week run on the US charts.

In the autumn of 1961, cousins Brian Wilson and Mike Love composed a song on surfing, titled "Surfin'" at the behest of Brian's younger sibling, Dennis Wilson. They quickly formed a band, bringing in the youngest Wilson brother Carl on lead guitar and Brian's high school friend Al Jardine on rhythm guitar. Brian took up bass, Dennis the drums and Mike would be the frontman, while they all would harmonize vocals arranged by Brian.

Father Murry Wilson became the band's manager. He submitted a professionally-recorded demo tape to Capitol Records that spring. The Beach Boys were signed and "Surfin' Safari" b/w "409" (from the April 1962 demo tape) was released as a single that June. Al Jardine left the band before the demo session, to be replaced by a friend of Carl's, David Marks, until the fall of 1963. With both "Surfin' Safari" and "409" becoming hits (the former reaching US number 14), Capitol Records approved a full album.

"The title track, their first true smash, is great, as is its flip side ('409'), which was not only a hit in its own right, but was the first vocal hot rod classic. 'Surfin',' their debut single (and small national hit), is also good, and one of the few Beach Boys tracks that could be said to have a garage-like quality... [A] glimpse of the group as they sounded when they were a true band in the studio, before most of their parts were played by session musicians. Two of the better cuts, 'The Shift' and the instrumental 'Moon Dawg,' have a grittier-than-usual surf rock base that would flower on 1963 hits like 'Surfin' U.S.A

The Beach Boys Surf's Up 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP

EMI continues to faithfully restore and deliver quality vinyl "From the Capitol Vaults".

Surf's Up, the album originally released in 1971, was based on the song of the same title written for the abandoned 1966-67 SMiLE album (which was later completed & released in 2004 by Brian Wilson and his band). This album features a re-worked version while SMiLE contains the original version of the song.

"The late, angel-throated Carl Wilson in particular shines here, and with two of brother Brian's greatest-ever tunes, 'Til I Die' and 'Surf's Up,' closing things out... the listener is left levitating in ecstasy as the final notes fade away. To this day, I get misty when I hear those songs - that teenage me gently inhabiting my being for a precious few minutes." - Fred Mills, Stereophile Magazine, February 2013, p. 74

THE BEACH BOYS THE BEACH BOYS TODAY! 180g LP

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 271/500!

The highly acclaimed and industry leading vinyl initiative, EMI's "From the Capitol Vaults", continues with crucial titles from the Beach Boys, The Band, Frank Sinatra, David Bowie and Faust!

The 1965 album was the Beach Boys' eighth studio album and the first of three to be released that year. The record contains the original version of the classic hit "Help Me, Rhonda". "Today!" marked a major turning point for the band, and especially the exhausted Brian Wilson. This was the point Wilson gave up touring, and many consider this the beginning of his artistic maturation.

One side of the album contains upbeat songs including "Do You Wanna Dance" and "Help Me Rhonda" while the second side features ballads such as "Please Let Me Wonder" and "Kiss Me, Baby". Aside from their highly successful "Pet Sounds", "Today!" is their most highly acclaimed.

"The Beach Boys were still into cars, girls and surfboards, but Brian Wilson was already a genius. He writes sweet California tunes here, from "When I Grow Up (to Be a Man)" to "Don't Hurt My Little Sister." And the haunting "She Knows Me Too Well" hits as deep as anything on Pet Sounds." - rollingstone

BRIAN WILSON BRIAN WILSON 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION AUDIOPHILE LP (BLUE VINYL) - This jacket has some wear at the top of the LP.

180g Translucent Blue Vinyl Mastered by Friday Music's Joe Reagoso & Ron McMaster From Original Sire Records Tapes!

Along with The Beach Boys, the legendary Brian Wilson, the rock and roll genius and ambassador of time honored classic rock and popular song, invented and helped shape the California sound for the entire world to enjoy for over fifty years. His distinct vision and musical imagery for The Beach Boys truly made them one of the first rock bands in history to sell multi-platinum and gold albums to millions of fans around the globe.

In 1988, Brian Wilson took some time out from The Beach Boys and ventured out on his own and delivered what was to soon become his masterpiece debut solo album Brian Wilson.

For this masterwork, Brian performs a number of his future classics like his powerful hit single Love And Mercy and brilliantly melodic tunes like his much loved Melt Away and his tribute to The Beach Boys One For The Boys. Some of his Beach Boys Today roots and Phil Spector admiration is felt as well with stunning tracks like Baby Let Your Hair Grow Long and Meet Me In My Dreams Tonight.

A star studded event, Brian Wilson is joined by many of his superstar friends like Christopher Cross and Andy Paley on the rockin’ Night Time as Terrence Trent D’Arby lends a hand on the Beach Boys Love You vibe of Walkin’ The Line. Jeff Lynne (ELO, Traveling Wilburys) joins the team as well for one of the finest collaborative efforts ever between two legends with the beautiful Let It Shine.

Brian Wilson also knows how to create pocket symphonies as he did for years with epic tracks like Good Vibrations. For this LP, the spectacular Rio Grande closes the album out leaving us all with even more good vibrations about how masterful this album truly is.

As another fine installment in the exclusive Brian Wilson 180 Gram Audiophile Series, Friday Music proudly presents for the first time ever on 180 Gram Audiophile Translucent Blue Vinyl, the 25th Anniversary of Brian Wilson’s classic masterpiece Brian Wilson.

Impeccably mastered from the original Sire Records tapes by long time Beach Boy friend and associate Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Records with Ron McMaster, Brian Wilson is a brilliant recording that truly resonates in the audiophile vinyl domain.

BRIAN WILSON'S - THAT LUCKY OLD SUN -

A musical love letter from Southern California, That Lucky Old Sun continues the awe-inspiring concept album journey that Brian Wilson first began four decades ago for The Beach Boys' 1966 classic, Pet Sounds, and has continued to evolve during his solo career, highlighted by his 2004 critically-acclaimed Brian Wilson Presents Smile. The album is narrated in transitional interludes spoken by Wilson as "That Lucky Old Sun," the storyteller. The narratives, cameos on life and the heartbeat of Los Angeles, propel the album's musical story.
