THE BEACH BOYS TODAY DU-2269 CAPITOL COMPACT 33 7" JUKEBOX EP WITH REPRO HARD SLEEVE & 10 JUKEBOX TITLE STRIPS
These are becoming harder and harder to find whether you are a Beatles fan or Beach Boys fan. These were issued in a very limited quantity in the mid 60s. This one is excellent with some hairlines, with *MINT* labels with NO writing, NO rips/tears, and NO stickers or glue residue. The repro hard sleeve is new untouched and made to be a precise EXACT copy of the original and manufactured with the highest standards, plus an ORIGINAL Capitol Compact 33 black sleeve. All 10 repro title strips are also the highest quality and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference from the originals.

Compact 33 Capitol promoted the album by issuing a six-song compact 33 album. This release was available to Seeburg juke boxes and came with timing strips, issued April 1965.

The compact 33 was an experimental (and short-lived) disc format of the early 1960s. The disc measures seven inches in diameter (45 sized), has a small center hole, and plays at 33-1/3 RPM. The format was used primarily for mono and stereo singles.

Capitol also put the compact 33 to use in "open-end" interviews — a deceptive yet highly successful technique many record companies employed to promote their artists. Local disc jockeys played the records to stage a fake interview by reading prepared questions from a script between recorded responses. This gave radio stations all over the country an “exclusive” interview.

Capitol manufactured compact 33 records for special jukeboxes but gave up when the 45 single took over the market.

Each disc contained six songs those Capitol Records considered the album's best, recorded in stereo, very rare in 1965 !!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
