The Beatles - 'White Album' No '0028736'. PMC 7067/7068
The Beatles 1968 MONO UK 1st pressing of the 'White Album' LP. Released on the 22nd November 1968, this was the first release by The Beatles which contains purely solo material. The White album is probably the most essential Beatles album to have in both mono and stereo as almost every track has some difference.
Released on the dark UK Apple label, all four sides of the vinyl feature the 'Sold in The UK ....' statement. But do NOT contain the 'An EMI Recording' text indicating an early pressing. The matrix numbers on ALL four sides of the vinyl are the very earliest produced with each side ending in -1 (see below for full details).
This comes complete with the original top opening sleeve which has embossed 'THE BEATLES' and the unique low number of '0028736'. The sleeve is the correct UK 1968 1st MONO edition and does NOT state 'Stereo' on the back cover. The vinyl are housed within the correct original black die cut inner sleeves. This set contains four reproduction White Album colour pictures. They are in perfect MINT- condition and look identical to the original set but they are NOT from 1968. NO poster is included with this album.
The bad news here is that the overall condition is far from perfect. This would be a low numbered mono filler until you could find that elusive MINT copy.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1: XEX 709-1 5 HL
Side 2: XEX 710-1 3 HH
Side 3: XEX 711-1 1 GT
Side 4: XEX 712-1 7 LL
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD- condition on side one, VERY GOOD- condition on side two POOR condition on side three and GOOD+ condition on side four. Both vinyls are slightly warped.
All labels are in EXCELLENT condition.
The sleeve is in GOOD+ condition.
The inner sleeves are in FAIR condition.
The four pictures are in MINT- condition. Reproduction set.
