THE BEATLES - A HARD DAYS NIGHT - PARLOPHONE MONO PMC 1230 - FIRST PRESSING 1964
This is a rare first mono pressing of the third album on Parlophone.
The matrix number is the very first -3N and side one comes from a '1' mother with stamper 'GOM' which using EMI's 'GRAMOPHLTD' coding means it comes from only the 154th stamper ever - that's early!!! Side 2 is a '8' mother and 'RRD' stamper (= 229th)
The silver/black label features the famous yellow logo, the rim wording 'The Parlophone Co Ltd ...' and 'Sold in UK ...' across the middle.
The heavy 158 gram vinyl itself is in really very, very good condition with only hairline surface marks and plays as excellent - only a few crackles expected of a vinyl of this great age.
The original inner sleeve has some yellowing and is creased in places.
The Garrod & Lofthouse foldover sleeve is also very good. The front laminated cover has absolutely minimal ringwear or creases. There is a little edge wear to the top surface but the spine is pristine. The unlaminated back cover is a little yellowed with age but otherwise very little marking - I wrote my name (very neatly) to the top left all those years ago (the folly of youth!).
A great example of this extremely rare early pressing with a low starting price.
