Description

This is, I believe, a rare UK 1988/89 DMM (Direct metal mastered) edition of the Beatles final and (IMO) best album Abbey Road
On Apple Records reference PCS 7008
Matrices are as follows (all hand etched) :
Side 1 : 55640 1A1 1042431 Side 2 : 55640 1B  1042431
Interesting pressing I'm thinking the UK 1988/89 for the following reasons :
Audio is top drawer, crystal clear 'Mfd in the UK' on the labels and 'Sleeve Printed in England' on the back of the sleeve along with 'Manufactured in England' hand etched matrices a little unusual Her Majesty omitted from the back of the sleeve but is on Side 2's label Bar coded, 5099910424315  with references for Vinyl, Tape and CD above it - tapes would be obsolete within a few years Rear sleeve has 'This album has been direct metal mastered from a digitally re-mastered original tape to give the best possible sound quality' so DMM Stickered as 'Promotional Copy Not For Sale' as pictured  Sleeve has notably different colouring to a UK 1st press, duller colours but much better defined detail - not laminated
The Record (Fully Test Played) EX
As mentioned above great audio, There are a few light surface marks and you will hear light crackle between the tracks sometimes. Aside from that there's a few clicks at the start of Here Comes the Sun and some on Sun King but this is a great listen, Solid EX
Inner Sleeve is a plain white, EX
Outer Sleeve (EX) has a few hairlines and a little wear to the top spine about 1" long (not a split). Side spine is nicely readable and squared, one 1cm of wear
In All a great sounding copy in great condition of my favourite album of all time :)

NOTE : PLEASE ask before bidding from overseas as there are some countries I don't and won't post to.
I'll be using Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded  If you're local and want to pick up in person then that's also fine.
All records graded as per the Record Collector / Goldmine Guide as closely and conservatively as I can
Record will be sent in a stiff mailer with the record removed from the outer sleeve and all in a plastic sleeve to prevent splits in transit - I am a collector myself so hate when that happens.
