FIRST PRESSING COPY of this increasingly rare Beatles compilation. Triple album in tri-gatefold sleeve.
“Anthology 1 features rarities, outtakes and live performances from the period 1958–1964, including their days as "The Quarrymen", through the Decca audition to sessions for the album Beatles for Sale. It is of historical interest for the only official release of performances with Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best during the time they were in the band. Sutcliffe, the band's original bass player during 1960 and sporadically during their second Hamburg season, is featured on the disc one tracks "Hallelujah, I Love Her So", "You'll Be Mine" and "Cayenne".”

GRADING
SLEEVE: VG+++
Gatefold sleeve is in really amazing condition. The reason for the downgrading is that there are some wrinkles to the top left hand corner suggestive of the sleeve having been dropped or indeiquately stored. Apart from this however the tri fold sleeve is in excellent condition. The spine is straight and true and looks unbroken.
RECORD: EX
Records are in absolutely fantastic condition having had basically no play since it was brought 17 years ago. There are 2 hairline marks to side 3 that should not sound and a couple of very light scuff marks under very bright light on a couple of the sides but that it. Superb!!!!
The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine system:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
