The album was of course, named after the London road in St. John's Wood that houses the E.M.I. studios (although, at one time it was going to be titled, "Everest"). The cover photograph was taken Friday 8th August 1969 by Iain Macmillan at 10 o'clock in the morning. For these quick snaps the police held up the traffic for 10 minutes as six pictures were taken (in two of which Paul wore his sandals). Along with Sgt. Peppers, once again The Beatles managed to create something so iconic that it has been imitated many times.

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO marks/unwanted writing and only moderate spindles/hole wear (please see close-up photos). This copy has been well played (but not over-played) and also extremely well cared for
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces have a CLEAN, DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN and retain their original lustre. There are one or two superficial very light surface marks but these are of no real audio consequence - the playback is SUPERB
VINYL Audio: CRYSTAL CLEAR, DEEP, RICH and very WARM SOUND. On Playback at a LOUD volume there are NO scratches, NO jumps/sticks and barely any clicks/pops or surface noise (really, hardly any at all). The album plays throughout to a high standard with GREAT CLARITY, NO discernible groove-wear or distortion and is critically graded a very strong EXCELLENT (if not better) for audio quality - A very nice copy indeed
SLEEVE: The original FULLY LAMINATED G&L sleeve with the mis-aligned apple is also in EXCELLENT condition (the apple is actually in the same place on the brickwork, it's the background picture that has moved slightly - the picture is more zoomed in than on the standard cover). The laminate has a BEAUTIFUL DEEP, GLASS-LIKE GLOSS to both the front and back surfaces with very little rubbing, just a few light creases but nothing major. The sleeve is also very flat with hardly enough room for the spine text but its all there - CLEAR and BOLD, and the top and bottom edges are SHARP with NO wear to speak of. Overall, a very, very nice example of this rare sleeve variant
