The Beatles For Sale original 1st press mono LP.
This is a 1st press copy with 'The Parlophone Company Ltd ...' copyright notice, yellow and black labels, and 'Sold in the U.K. ...'
OVERALL CONDITION The outer sleeve retains gloss and is largely undamaged with good edges, no tears or stains, mild creasing, good spine. The inner sleeve is undamaged and unstained with some creasing. The record plays beautifully with slight crackle on runs ins, run outs and between tracks. Side 1 is almost faultless apart from this, Side 2 has some very brief crackle for a few seconds on several tracks. Otherwise the disc plays beautifully with no distortion and a great, strong sound. Labels are extremely good with no damage and light spindle marks.
I do not rely on the usual record grading systems and instead play test every record I sell using high quality equipment. Notes are made on every run in, run out, track and between tracks sound.

PLAY TEST RESULTS I play tested this record using high quality vintage equipment with a new stylus tracking at 1.5g and listening through studio quality headphones.
Side 1
Run in: virtually clear. Tracks 1-4 fine with no crackle, clicks etc. Track 5 has the slightest crackle for the last 3-4 seconds Track 6 is fine with no crackle etc Track 7 has very slight crackle for the last 3-4 seconds.
Side 2
Runin: slight crackle Tracks 1 - 3 have slight crackle for 3-4 seconds. Track 1 has 1 quiet click Track 4 has very slight crackle at the start and occasional crackle throughout Track 5 has occasional crackle/clicks Track 6 has occasional feint crackle Track 7 has crackle for the first 3-4 seconds and faintly through quiet passages.
The overall sound quality is very fine for a record manufactured in December 1964.
VERY POLITE BUT IMPORTANT NOTICE: Everybody's hearing is different, as is their interpretation of sound. In addition to this, different equipment will hide/expand any faults. Please bear this in mind before buying.
Any questions, please ask. I am an avid collector and have several examples of both mono and stereo versions of this record and find this one, despite the few seconds of slight crackle, in exceptional condition. The sleeve is not the most robust of any record and is prone to tearing and splitting. The edges are also very vulnerable. This is a very good copy (and I don't mean by any grading system!) as evidenced by my description.
