Description
This is the real deal first edition of the famous Beatles Collection box set, BC 13 produced in 1978 in a limited numbered edition of 3000. This is number 1808. I ordered it new back in 1978 from a local record store before it even came out, as I knew how rare it would be, so this is an original owner copy. I was quite pissed a year later when they released the Rarities album separately, and then started reissuing these box sets. Only the first editions have the number stamped on the box, and a rarities album in a paper sleeve. That particular album SPRO-8969 is one of the rarest Beatles albums ever produced at 3,000 copies. This set was opened by me after I purchased it and I played the rarities album once on each side, out of innate curiosity. The other 12 albums are still sealed in their original shrink wrap, they are all mint, since I played the Rarities album once it is NM/M. The box is VG/EX, it has fading on the top flap and some on the edges, from being stored on a shelf for a few years. There is a little wear on the bottom, its light but notable, and the flap edge for the top has very minor tears, about 3/8 of an inch on both sides of the folding crease to open the box. Check out the pictures. I will not sell for anything less then the listing price, so don't ask.
I am a long time collector of vinyl and comic books, but stopped selling on eBay in 2021 because of their failure to protect sellers from bad buyers. My collection at that time was huge, and I wholesaled it to Anthony Snyder, [Anthony's Comic Art], who has been selling it since then under the name, "The Fisherman Collection". I did not sell Anthony everything, because I wanted to hold on to certain comics, signed hardcovers, and records that I really liked. After 50 years of collecting I am going to be selling some more of these items, [some are collector holy grails] so check back as I list more items. This item will not be discounted, the starting price will be the lowest I will take, you can use the higher buy it now if you want to be sure you get it. I do not end auctions early, don't ask. If you open a sealed item it is not returnable once opened. US sales only, no sales to any other countries that require customs. That includes Canada, and Mexico. Free media mail shipping with tracking. I will ship with other USPS options at extra cost.
