Here is a 1980's collectors' RE-ISSUE of the Beatles' "Christmas Album" LP, which comprises all of the Beatles' Christmas Records from 1963-1969. This IS NOT the album as issued in 1970 to the Fan Club, but is a re-release on Trade Mark of Quality records and is made up of the same material. This would have been put out in the late 1980's and is printed on really gorgeous multicolored vinyl. The sleeve doesn't easily fit into grading, as it is a blank white sleeve with a photocopied insert, but its condition (as it were) is NM. The record is also a NM, except that it has some of the dimpling often seen on "off-label" pressings (which I have never known to affect playability). If I ever played this it was ONCE and once only to record it to a cassette. This would have been purchased around 1987 to 1989 and has been in my collection for over 20 years, I believe I bought it new and transferred it to tape before putting it in storage in a plastic sleeve, where it has remained ever since.

Here are my grading criteria:

MINT : Pristine, perfect and flawless

NM NEAR MINT The record shows no obvious signs of wear. The very slightest signs of use, truly near mint. May have few signs of wear on the cover and/ or few slight paper scuffs on the vinyl. Plays perfectly

NM- NEAR MINT MINUS The record will show some small signs that it was played and handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. There should be no obvious defects (Scratches/Warps).

EX : Light use is evident. The beginnings of light wear will be evident on the cover and some surface scuffs will apear on the vinyl BUT record should play with no surface noise.

VG++ : Use is evident but not bad. Cover has some ring wear along with some rub along the edges, spine and the corners along the spine. Record has some marks , very light scratches.

VG+ : Average use record, looks OK, plays OK, some noise is possible. Record has most of the original gloss. Record was played but was well cared for.

VG : Cover shows more than normal wear and vinyl has some groove wear or several scratches or some significant scratches. This record may have noise, but not overwhelmingly.

G : Significant surface noise, scratches, visible groove wear , may skip or repeat.
