The Beatles Singles 1962-1970

World Records/EMI – 1978

During the autumn of 1977, EMI’s mail order subsidiary, World Records, released a Box Set entitled The Beatles Collection, The Beatles Singles 1962-1970, consisting of 24 7” singles, from “Love Me Do” to “Back In The U.S.S.R.” The Set was available by mail order only, and not through the usual retail outlets.

The 24 singles were presented in green Picture Sleeves and were housed in a special gold embossed box. The Collection was heavily advertised in the British press.

Each of the records in the Collection was in a picture sleeve, green on one side, with a picture of the Beatles on the other side. However, there weren’t different pictures for each sleeve; instead, four pictures were used multiple times, each relating to the period in the Beatles career in which the single was released. There were, however, different photographs used for two unique discs in the set: one for “Back in the USSR / Twist and Shout”, and another for “Yesterday / I Should Have Known Better”. The Collection also included a four-page booklet with a brief history of the Beatles. There was also a World records garuntee certificate.

Shortly afterwards they added a 25th single "Sgt Peppers" and there is an added insert confirming this.

The Records and Picture Sleeves are in Mint unplayed condition. This was bought at the time and the records never played. The Informational Booklet is in perfect shape. With an extra insert about the added 25th single.

The  gold embossed box that houses the records is near perfect. No wear, no tears, just a little lifting of the black paper where the hinge of the lid is. Otherwise its like new. Superb copy.

This is going to be sent registered signed for mail which will be reflected in the postage. Its quite heavy.

Please note: Most of the records I sell are 25 to 50 years old. I do not play grade every record. Many are visually graded. This is usually sufficient as 99% of the time if it looks clean it will play clean. However even those that are played may play differently from one record player to another. So sometimes these old pieces of plastic may have a crackle or pop in them somewhere. I offer a money back garuntee if you're not happy though so bid with confidence.

Gradings
M = unplayed
M- = just a shade off unplayed.
EX = Excellent well looked after copy but will have signs of being played
VG+ = A few light marks but still a fabulous copy
VG = Quite a bit of wear but plays fine
G = A lot of wear but should still play acceptably but with crackle
F = Filler copy which will sound very crackly and worn

Returned items must be returned in seven days unless otherwise agreed beforehand by me.
Postage is now free (in the UK only) but you return any item at your own cost.
