A BEAUTIFUL NEAR PRISTINE ALBUM!

FOR SALE IS THE BEATLES CHRISTMAS ALBUM WHICH WAS SENT EXCLUSIVELY TO THE BEATLES FAN CLUB MEMBERS ONLY. THE LABEL IS PRINTED “NOT FOR SALE”. I BELIEVE THIS IS A LATER 1970s REISSUE COPY AS I CAN READ THEATRE ROYAL OVER JOHN’S HEAD IN THE BOTTOM ROW, SECOND FROM THE LEFT PHOTO, BUT I CANNOT SEE RINGO’S LEFT EYE IN THE BOTTOM LEFT PHOTO.

THE JACKET AND DISC ARE IN BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT CONDITION. THE DISC WAS PROBABLY PLAYED ONCE. THERE IS A VERY MINOR SPINDLE MARK AND A VERY LIGHT SCUFF MARK ON SIDE 2 THAT IS ONLY VISIBLE WHEN HOLDING IT UP TO THE LIGHT.

In December 1970, in the wake of the band's break-up the UK fan-club sent out a compilation LP of all seven previous fan-club Christmas recordings entitled From Then To You. The master tapes having been mislaid, the album was mastered from copies of the original flexi discs. In the US, the album was repackaged as The Beatles' Christmas Album and sent out by the fan-club around springtime 1971. With no new recordings, the album served to remind everyone that the Beatles were no more. The new Beatles Christmas album had the advantage of durability over the original flexi discs, and for American fans, it was the first time the 1964 and 1965 messages had been made available in the USA.
