THE BEATLES "THE BEATLES FIRST"
POLYDOR RECORDS SPECIAL Cat# 236.201
Matrices end A1 / B FIRST PRESSING with XXXX'd first catalogue numbers
**********************************************************
A UK ORIGINAL pressing for the brilliant Beatles - from the intimate 1961 recordings by Bert Kaempfert, backing Tony Sheridan on several tracks here. This didn't get released in Britain until the lads hit the big headlines.
They were getting true 'mania' at that period, after issuing some phenomenal hit singles.
It's renowned how clear and well mastered these Polydor recordings actually were.
Here it's stomping rock and roll for the most part, with a couple of Elvis type ballads.
These archive recordings are a real treasure!
You can hear their proficiency, they had many hours of playing live when this was recorded.
This doesn't have their hits, it was from *before* the Please Please Me lp or any of the 45s as 'The Beatles'.
