Description
Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles For Sale' 1964 FIRST press STEREO vinyl LP!
This particular pressing is the FIRST pressing of Beatles For Sale, released in 1964. What makes this record special is the fact that it is in the STEREO format. In 1964, stereo records weren't in demand as not many people had the correct systems to even play them on. These records had to be specially ordered through record shops! A scarce record for sure! DO NOT MISS OUT!
Artist: The Beatles
Title: Beatles For Sale
Catalogue Number: PCS 3062
Year: 1964
Number of Tracks: 14
Matrix Numbers: -1 -1
Mother Stampers: 4GR 1GM
EARLY MOTHER STAMPER ON SIDE 2!
Condition:
Vinyl (visual): Side 1 - there are some light hairline scratches in places with sleeve removal trails but nothing feelable. It has a wonderful gloss and shine! Rated as VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT-. Label is VERY GOOD+. Side 2 - same as Side 1 with a few light sleeve removal trails - this thing shines!
Audio: I have play-tested the first two tracks on either side ONLY!!! I can confirm that these 4 tracks plays EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT+. I can't believe how much clarity there is! The only issue I have found on those 4 tracks is a VERY TINY skip on the very start of Side 2 during the intro for Eight Days A Week but i replayed the section 10 times and it skipped twice and clicked the other 8 times. The run-in for both sides is quiet and in-between tracks, crackle is almost non-existent! VERY crisp, punchy audio! This was hard to let go...
Inner Sleeve: The original EMITEX inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD- condition! It has some discolouration, creasing and light, general wear with a seam split to the bottom of about 1.5" and one to the right of about 4" and a tiny one on the left but it houses the record excellently!
Sleeve: The original 1964 STEREO gatefold flipback sleeve is currently rated as VERY GOOD! The front of the sleeve has a lovely gloss and shine but it does have wear towards the edges with a creases in the top right extending towards the middle top. The sleeve is free from writing but does have some light discolouration to the edges. The flipbacks have some marks and discolouration. The spine is 100% readable with a tear in lower corner with a black mark a third of the way up.
DO NOT MISS OUT!!!
PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!!
As with all the vintage records I sell, I advise a deep clean to enhance the sound quality of the record. Overall, a nice STEREO sixties Beatles record that everyone should own!
