Description
This is an auction for The Beatles LP, For Sale.
This was released by Parlophone records in 1964 and has catalogue number PMC1240. This is the 1st press with a black and yellow label with "Recording first published 1964" and "The Parlophone Co Ltd" and "Sold In U.K." label text. This also comes with a G & L sleeve with the outline "Mono" on the front cover. Please check the pictures for clarification.
Matrix: XEX 503 3N XEX 504 4N
Condition: The gatefold sleeve comes in fine condition with only a few tiny lamination creases, very light buffing/creasing to the very corners and a few very discreet dirt marks. Spine & Edges Ex, no tears, bends, centre ex, flipback edges ex, lamination at mouth ex, no fingering indentations and graded at Near Mint.
This comes with its original inner sleeve which has a little yellowing but is otherwise in fine condition.
Both labels are clean and look new, under a strong light some spindle trails can be seen on each side. The centre hole is perfect and shows no signs of wear, please check the pictures on supersize.
The vinyl retains its new shine and looks immaculate in normal light. Under a very strong light a few tiny feather scratches can be seen. I have of course given this a test play through both sides and was pleased to find that this plays as good as it looks. The above mentioned feather scratches are completely non-audible. The audio is very strong and plays with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. This plays with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality and certainly does not appear to suffer from any reduction due to wear despite being played more than a few times. Quiet breaks and entries and other than two crackles in the space between track one & two, on side two, and a few tiny crackles in the beginning of track four, also of side two, this sounded brand new. No other noteworthy surface noises and playing through fine.
The vinyl for this is graded at a conservative VG+. The audio is certainly better than graded, but I always down-grade if the record has been played more than a few times and has feather scratches, be them non-audible.
If your buying for sound quality this one is for you, a worthy addition to any collection, with a fine sleeve to.
