Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles For Sale' 1964 first press STEREO vinyl LP!
This particular pressing is the very first STEREO pressing of Beatles For Sale, released in 1964. Stereo copies are way rarer than mono pressings as the demand for stereo records in 1964 was very low. Most people didn't have equipment that could play stereo records and those that did had to specially order stereo copies through their local record dealer! VERY RARE, DO NOT MISS OUT!!!
Artist: The Beatles
Title: Beatles For Sale
Catalogue Number: PCS 3062
Year: 1964
Number of Tracks: 14
Matrix Numbers: -1 -1
Mother Stampers: 1A 4RM
EARLY MOTHER STAMPER ON SIDE 1!
Condition:
Vinyl (visual): Side 1 - there are a few lightly feelable marks on the disc...not deep and I doubt the will cause skipping, just light ticks maybe. Still has a lovely gloss and shine. Rated as VERY GOOD. Label is EXCELLENT-. Side 2 - similar to Side 1 but with a few more light scratches and a small feelable mark at the start of track 5.
Audio: I have play-tested the first track on Side 1 and the first track on Side 2!! They both rate as VERY GOOD+! I have also play-tested all the feelable marks and they cause some pops and ticks but NO SKIPS etc. Minimal crackle on the run-in, it gets a bit louder as the music starts but it is background crackle and a deep clean will help with this! All instruments and vocals can be heard clearly and the original audio isn't spoiled. I do recommend a deep clean to improve the overall sound quality. Very punchy bass with crisp high tones and a great early Beatles stereo mix!
Inner Sleeve: The original EMITEX inner sleeve is currently in VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT- condition! It has NO RIPS, NO TEARS and NO SPLITS! Nice and crisp with a few creases but nothing serious.
Sleeve: The original 1964 STEREO gatefold sleeve is currently rated as VERY GOOD+! The front of the sleeve is nice and glossy and has intact laminate! Light creasing towards the corners but nothing serious. Looks great with some slight rubbing on the edges - NO SEAM SPLITS! The rear of the sleeve has a lovely gloss and shine with light ringwear and a few small creases. The inner gatefold is very clean with no writing or anything like that. The spine is nice and square but it does have some creases and wear.
DO NOT MISS OUT!!!
PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!!
As with all the vintage records I sell, I advise a deep clean to enhance the sound quality of the record. Overall, a RARE early sixties Beatles record that everyone should own!
