Description

You are bidding on the extremely rare *STEREO* vinyl record by Frank Ifield and The Beatles titled JOLLY WHAT: ON STAGE (VJS 1085 on spine & front cover/VJLPS 1085 on record/VJLP 1085 on back cover).   Any version of The Beatles Vee Jay albums are hard-to-find, but stereo versions of those releases are exceptionally rare.

***PLEASE NOTE***  The reserve price is a reasonable amount based on previous auctions and other similar sources.

AUTHENTICITY: This is an original copy with the purple background cover and lettering on the spine (see photo).  Subsequent counterfeit copies of the LP apparently had black covers and no lettering on the spine.  Etched information in the dead wax space corresponds to the Vee Jay record number, recording date, etc.  One other personal note regarding authenticity: the album was found in a box of records that belonged to one owner.  All of the other LPs in the box were contemporaneous releases (early to mid-60s).

VINYL CONDITION: The vinyl is in absolutely wonderful shape - basically as glossy as a new record.  Side two is close to spotless.  Side one has a couple of very faint and small fingerprint-type smudges that I assume could be cleaned.  I do not see any wear around the spindle hole on either side.  This, and the lack of any sleeve scuffing from being taken in and out of the inner sleeve,  indicates that the album received very little, if any, play.  I would visually grade side two as near mint (NM) and side one as excellent+ (EX+).

JACKET CONDITION: The jacket has some surface wear/faint ring wear (see photo) and some minor dings to the corners/edges, but is still nice.  The back cover is very clean.  Structurally, the jacket is in excellent condition - very solid with no seam splits - just some very minor chipping along the edges (see photo of lettered spine).  And finally, the record comes in the original Vee Jay inner sleeve.

All in all - a very nice copy of an extremely hard-to-find Beatles stereo release on Vee Jay..
