1965 1ST PRESSING
First issue matrices XEX 549-2/ XEX 550-2
Sleeve:
The sleeve is in Very Good condition, completely intact at all seams, no edge wear and is holding up extremely well with a small amount of wear on the corners. The spine is completely intact with clear title text. A little grazing on the back panel in one place, but a very neat and clean front panel.
Inner Sleeve: Original EMI Patents Applied For inner, split in the middle of each side, otherwise is OK. Fair condition.
The Vinyl: In Very Good Minus condition. The surfaces are smooth and groove wear free, still projecting a bright pressing shine on both sides, it has lots of light hairline marks superficial to the surfaces, very light and very fine. No scuffs, or warps, or feelable scratches. The item has received play use but has not been handled too badly and is still a good example.
Lays completely flat on the turntable.
The Labels: Very Good Condition. Very little wear to the spindle perimeter, and just a few spindle marks.
The Audio: There are some loud ticks for a few seconds on the last track of Side 1 and on the first track of side 2. Otherwise this is a really nice player. It never fails to astound me how resilient and robust these early sixties vinyl pressings are, other than a little quiet background noise in some of the run-in’s the audio is crisp and clear throughout, lucid instrumentals and a warm mono bass.
