THE BEATLES – Help! *ORIG Parlophone LP* PCS 3071 (UK, Stereo, 1965)
Here’s an original UK black and yellow stereo press of The Fabs’ 5th long player – the record that introduced such classic songs as the title track, ‘Ticket To Ride’, ‘Yesterday’ and ‘You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away’. Always much harder to find than the mono!

The single format front-laminated tri-flipback sleeve is a strong example – just a half-dozen ‘thumb’ creases to the front laminate, couple of surface scrapes and a tiny patch of dirt rubbing to the top front left corner. That’s about it – there are NO tears, rips, splits or writing. The back panel is nice and white with next to no toning or yellowing. It has a crease on George’s picture. All 3 flips are solidly in place and the spine is intact but just has 1 tiny nick to the ‘s’ in ‘Beatles’. Overall, cleaner than most and only the few creases demote it to an EX- (Excellent Minus) grade.
The original black and yellow labels look fine. Actually only very minimal spindle evidence. No writing or other damage and all print is sharp and clear.
The medium-weight vinyl is in a visual VG (Very Good) condition – some fine hairlines and scuffs to both sides but please note there is a thin scratch crossing tracks 3 to 7 of Side 2. This, although noticeable, only really audibly affects the audio of ‘Yesterday’ where a repeated light click can be heard. There are a half dozen soft ticks to ‘I Need You’ on Side 1 but NO STICKS, JUMPS, HISS or DISTORTION. Still plays loud and clear otherwise. There is light surface on the run-ins and between track divides. All in all a very enjoyable listen.
