Complete & original 1st UK press box set of The Beatles - Let It Be, from 8th May 1970. 


The 1st pressing of The Beatles - Let It Be can be identified by the -2U/-2U matrix endings in the runouts; a small ℗ publishing symbol on the labels; and a red Apple logo in the back of the LP sleeve. The 1st pressing was released as a box set that came with a 164-page 'Get Back' book; the vinyl album; plain 'patents pending' inner sleeve; red Apple logo sleeve; outer box slip case; slip tray; and delicate inner book holder.

Labels: Dark green with small publishing ℗ symbol.


Sleeve: Red Apple logo on sleeve back.


Mother & stampers: 4 RD; 1 RL. This means very early Stampers!

CONDITION:


The Disc
Absolutely stunning condition. It's hard to find a 1st press -2U/-2U matrix disc in top NEAR MINT! condition like this. Visually it is glossy and clean, both sides have no marks or wear visible in both good natural light and under direct strong halogen spotlight. Perfect! The audio playback is superb. Quiet run-ins to both sides, very quiet between tracks and in soft passages or quiet tracks like the title track 'Let It Be' which plays superbly. No obtrusive pops, repeat clicks and clearly no skips of sticks in this superior condition. It's a great listen! The disc sits completely flat on the turntable and does not have any warping or dishing. The labels are clean and unworn at the center hole with no spindle markings. I strongly doubt this disc had any plays at all. 

The Sleeve
The red apple 1st press sleeve has a glossy and clean front and back without ring wear, sharp edges and corners, with only a very minor flaking on 1 corner, and a fully readable spine, NEAR MINT! This is a very rare find, since this LET IT BE cover is way thinner than other releases. 


The Inner
The original white paper inner sleeve is clean,with no writing, or rips/splits, EXCELLENT!


The Book
The original 164-page book has a glossy clean front and back, and unworn fully-readable spine. All pages are intact and not loose or coming loose. The only blemish is a crease on the top right of the book, you can see that on the picture.


The Box (main outer slipcase) 
The box outer slipcase with 4 square panel images of the Beatles is in excellent condition. The front is glossy and clean without print fading or discolouration. 


The Box (slipcase tray) 
The box slipcase tray is normally in poor condition due to being pulled at from the sides and also often flattened. There are FOUR tears on the four corners once you open the tray. aside of that, it's in very good condition.

Records are graded using the standard UK record grading system from the Rare Record Price Guide (RRPG).
