THE BEATLES- LOVE ME DO / P.S. I LOVE YOU- 7".
PARLOPHONE RECORDS. 45-R 4949. 1962. MATRIX: 7XCE 17144/17145 1N. 1ST PRESS, RED LABEL, 'RECORDINNG FIRST PUBLISHED 1962' & 'THE PARLOPHONE CO LTD' LABEL TEXT. NO 'SOLD IN UK' OR 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN' LABEL TEXT. RINGO ON DRUMS & NO TAMBOURINE VERSION. THIS IS WITH-OUT QUESTION A GENUINE 1ST EDITION.
CONDITION: N/A / EX+. Original company sleeve which has some light dirt/discolouring and some creases, no edge splits.
Both labels come in fine condition, side one is almost perfect with just two or three tiny spindle trails seen under a strong light, looking at the centre-hole very closely on this side a mere touch of wear can just be seen on parts of the hole, being ultra fussy, lastly I would say that, again looking under a strong light, that a couple of very, very ligt dirt/finger marks can just be seen. The label on side one is near mint.
Side two has a few more spindle trails, at 4 o'clock next to the centre-hole one small picking mark can be seen, lastly like side one, under a strong light a couple of very, very light finger/dirt marks can just be made out. The label on side two is in excellent condition. The push-out centre hole is attatched perfectly with all four prongs in fine condition.
The vinyl does not let this down, retaining its new shine with only a few very small and very light surface marks just seen, these are completely non-audible, also with a couple of dust marks, appearance wise this would grade at a strict excellent+. I have test played this through both sides and found the audio to be superb. Playing with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Strong clear audio with no background hiss or feckling whatsoever. I heard two un-noteworthy very quiet crackles on side one, side two played perfectly. No distortion, fading or dragging on either side and just about as good as you can find this in terms of audio. So audio graded at a comfortable Near Mint, strictly down-graded for its appearance which is just a tad below Near Mint, audio certainly better than graded.
A fine collectors item and worthy addition to any collection.
