You are bidding on an original copy of The Beatles first single release on Parlophone from 1962 - Love Me Do, with PS I Love You on the b-side.
This is a very early pressing of the record. It has the red Parlophone label that they replaced with a black label in early 1963. There is no 'Made In Gt. Britain' text below the Parlophone logo. The label is stamped with a PT tax code on side 1. The vinyl has PZT tax codes on both sides. Side 1's stampers are 1 GR. Side 2's stampers are 1 T. Single letter stampers are very rare and show that this is a very early pressing.
The record is in superb condition. Side 1 visually is a strict VG+. The red label is in fantastic condition, with only a couple of little scuffs and some spindle marks. There is no writing on the label. The vinyl retains its original sheen. There are a few scuffs, but no scratches that affect play. It plays VG+ with a little surface noise, but no distortion or skips. I am very strict with my grading and many would grade both the appearance and sound as Exc. Side 2 is visually VG. There is some spindle wear around the centre of the label and a 1mm mark near the centre. there is no writing on the label. The vinyl is in a similar condition to side 1, with perhaps one or two more marks. It plays VG+ like side 1.
The original EMI sleeve is in VG- condition. It has strong, unfaded colours. It has a 2" split to one side. The ink has smudged on one side to the bottom right. Otherwise it is a very good sleeve, with no tears or heavy creases.
This is a superb example of this rare record. Such early pressings are very rarely found in condition as good as this.
