THE BEATLES - LOVE ME DO 7" 45 UK 1ST PRESSING RED LABEL VINYL RARE ORIGINAL WITH RINGO ON DRUMS.


The first ever record put out by EMI released by Parlophone, UK on 5 October 1962  - this FIRST ISSUE VINYL 45 is on the DISTINCTIVE RED Parlophone Label with Silver Printed text, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd....’ label rim and With ‘Recording First Published 1962’, With ‘Ardmore & Beechwood Ltd’ publishing credits, there are two versions of this Parlophone Label, one version has the Made in Gt Britain label text and the later pressing just has the logo, this is the earlier pressing.

Love Me Do was recorded on the 4th September 1962 with Ringo Starr on drums. One week later the Beatles returned to the studio and recorded the song again with session drummer Andy White and Ringo relegated to tambourine. The first release used the first session with Ringo on drums and all other releases used the later recording.


Side 1: Love Me Do with matrix: 7XCE 17144-1N and Side 2:  7XCE-17145-1N.  In the run out groove it has the ZT UK tax code.

I am selling this on behalf of an elderly relative who purchased this record new in 1962. The record is in good condition and has only been played once in the last 40 years which was to help potential buyers grade the record. The record is housed in the original sleeve with adverts for EMI products on the reverse.
