Condition
Vinyl– Excellent
Vinyl has a lovely sheen with some visible hairlines and fine, wispy sleeve removal lines.B side has a mark on the run off. Matrix suffix ‘1N’ indicating ‘Ringo on drums & no tambourine’ version.
Audio – Very good+
Playback is lovely and bright with no distortion. No sticks, jumps or pops. There is background noise throughout, more obvious on run ins/outs.
Labels– Excellent
The labels are in excellent condition with some spindle wear to both sides. No tears, stickers or writing to either side. The rim text starts “The Parlophone Co. Ltd.” In upper/lower text & “Recording first published 1962”. Without "Sold in the UK" text.
Sleeve– Very Good +
The original* ‘Beach Stripe’ Parlophone sleeve is in nice condition. Splits to bottom edge and one side edge, a name written in ink top right of front side. Otherwise just some light creasing.
*This sleeve, although original, would not have been the original sleeve for this pressing. Parlophone moved to the more familiar green/white sleeves in 1963.
Overall, this is a lovely copy of this second pressing of the Beatles first release. This pressing is also a little harder to find than the first press red label due to the smaller quantities pressed.
Record will be removed from sleeve for posting. I will only send signed for and always obtain proof of posting.
