Description

The Beatles lp, 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'. 1984 Nimbus Supercut Pressing, cat# PCS 7027. 'NIMBUS ENGLAND' stamped in the deadwax.

Originally only available through mail-order to subscribers of HI-FI magazine.

It's clear why this is so sought-after: the pressing is absolutely superb...

The gatefold sleeve has been kept in a protective sleeve and is consequently mint- condition: sharp corners, crisp spine.

The cut-out insert is still here, unused. Only damage is one light crease in a corner: vg++ condition.

Labels both clean, tilting under strong light there are one or two VERY faint spindle impressions. They're barely visible: vg++.

Vinyl has some light marks: A-side has only a few small and very light trace opticals. B-side has similar marks, as well as 3 or 4 longer marks; these are superficial scuffs rather than deep though. I'd grade it a good vg+. As a result I've listened carefully to the entire lp, up loud!

A-side plays superbly: couple very faint ticks on the run-in groove and in spaces between a couple of the tracks but absolutely no detectable noise over the music, even in quieter moments.

B-side, despite visual marks, plays just as well. Superb, literally three or four soft clicks and a little hiss between a couple of tracks are the only surface noises detected throughout the whole side.
