THE BEATLES LP YELLOW SUBMARINE APPLE UK FIRST STEREO PRESSING PCS 7070 with RED STRIPES. YEX 715-1 YEX 716-1 with RA. No 'Garrod & Lofthouse' on the sleeve. I bought this album back in 1969 and it has been in my possession every since. Played quite a lot but not since about 1971 when I left home.
The outer sleeve is in good condition with some wear on the corners, small stains and some creasing both back and front. Please look carefully at the photos and close ups for detail. The spine is in good, flat condition. The original black inner sleeve is very worn with each side having come open. I believe this is a common problem as the original paper was of very poor quality and after about a year they changed the inner sleeve. There are some tears on the main die-cut label display opening and the opening edge. Again, please check photos for detail.
The labels are in good condition with a little spindle wear and unfortunately someone, probably my brother, has attached 4 small pieces of masking tape to the 2nd side label. I have not tried to remove these as I don't want to damage the original surface.
I have always cleaned my records before playing. The disc has a good shine. There are surface scratches on both sides. This album has not been played in the last 50 years but I have tested it on my Linn Sondeck and it plays very well, no sticking or jumps. There is some intermittent surface noise on side 1 with light surface scratches as you'd expect from it having been played. There is more audible surface noise on the second orchestral side.
