The Beatles released "Let It Be," their 12th and final studio album in May 1970 on Apple Records. It came out a month after the group broke-up and coincided with the release of the movie of the same name. It quickly hit No. 1 in both the U.S. and U.K.

This is a very rare copy (AR 34001) of the first pressing which is identifiable by the Red Apple logo labels on the disc and the fact that the track Maggie Mae was misidentified with a credit to P.D. (public domain) which was later corrected to the band member's names. Even more interesting is that Phil & Ronnie (as in Spector) is etched in the dead wax on these early copies which also carry a Bell Sound marking. The gatefold cover is intact and I rate it VG+ but it does have some ring and edge wear as can be seen in the pictures. The disc plays cleanly and I rate it VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 50 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
