DESCRIPTION
Magical Mystery Tour holds a singular place in The Beatles’ catalog as the first LP release of this material anywhere in the world. Issued in the United States in late 1967, the album combined the songs from the British double-EP with contemporary singles, resulting in one of the defining psychedelic rock albums of the era.
The record captures the band at their most adventurous, moving from the cinematic sweep of “I Am the Walrus” to the melodic brilliance of “Strawberry Fields Forever” and “Penny Lane.” As a U.S. Capitol release, this configuration quickly became the standard worldwide and remains a cornerstone title for Beatles collectors.
