Description
This is my personal copy of the MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR double EP which is being sold because I have retired and moved and need to downsize! Its original UK release date was 8/12/67 but mine is marked 7/12/67 which is the date I bought it from my local record shop who sold new releases as soon as they had stock available. Magical Mystery Tour was the first Beatles EP to be released in both mono and stereo. This is the mono version which is now deleted.
The discs are housed in white inner sleeves which are excellent with no tears just a little creased. The disc labels are excellent with minimal spindle trails and very little wear around the spindle holes.
The catalogue number for the set is MMT-1, the individual discs are identified as MMT-A1 and MMT-B1. side 1 has matrix code 7XCE 18435-1, mother code is 5 and stamper is GH, side 2 has 7XCE 18434-1, mother code is 7 and stamper is TD, on record 2 side 3 has matrix code 18436-1, mother code is 4 and stamper is OR, side 4 matrix is 18437-2, mother is 1 and stamper is RD. The disc surfaces are all excellent with some fingerprints and only minor scratches. The run outs on all sides have the tax code KT engraved.
It has a gatefold picture sleeve manufactured by Garrod and Lofthouse, with a full booklet, and a blue lyric sheet, still all fully bound together. The edges are slightly worn, the spine is excellent and the corners are only slightly dog-eared
The inside of the front cover has a date 7.12.67 written (by me as the date on which I bought it!) and the shop's sticky label is on the inside of the rear cover.
A very good example of an early pressing.
