Highly prized and collectable original RED Parlophone label pressing of the DEBUT Beatles single. Only the very first pressings of ‘Love Me Do’ have Red labels as Parlophone switched to the more familiar Black label design for their singles very soon after the release of this single in 1963.

Becoming increasingly harder to find in decent condition.

“The Parlophone Co.Ltd.” label text in lower case.

“RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963” label text.

NO “Sold in The UK” label text. Parlophone didn’t include this text until 1964.

“MADE IN GT. BRITAIN” label text.

“zt g r” tax code stamped in run-off groove area.

7XCE 17144 – 1N & 7XCE 17145 – 1N matrix numbers.

 Comes in original Parlophone sleeve.type 2 sleeve

 CONDITION: I strive to provide an accurate and honest appraisal of condition. It’s in my best interests to do so. I WANT YOU TO COME BACK! All records are checked in good light and play tested at a loud volume (unless described as sealed, brand new or stated otherwise). STRICT U.K. MAGAZINE 'RECORD COLLECTOR' GRADING SYSTEM USED.

Playing condition is graded as VG- for Aside and VG- for Bside. Very little lessening in sound quality. Aside plays great with no obvious audible faults. the lightest of surface noise. no jumping.

Overall good playing condition for a record nearly 50 years old! NO loud obtrusive crackle, NO loud distortion, NO repetitive pops/clicks. NO jumps, NO sticking.

One flaw is in the run off groove where the matrix is looks like a dent in the vinyl where something may have been dropped on the vinyl in its past. no cracking but a dent which in no way affects the sound quality.

Visually the vinyl is very good minus. Several light surface marks only.its been played and enjoyed over the years with surface marks only and nothing deep or ingrained.

Absolutely nothing that feels to the touch or has any obvious impact on play apart from the scuff that causes b side to click in last 20 seconds of ask me why. Vinyl looks like its been played and enjoyed but well looked after

 Labels in G+/VG condition. All prongs of the push-out centre are firmly attached to the rest of the disc. Some spindle marks are evident (more on Bside) when looked at in a certain angle. All text perfectly readable. NO tears. NO writing. A small sticker was on both sides which has been removed and leaves a slightly raised label on both sides in between 'rlop' on side a of parlophone and 'pho' on b side.

Original Parlophone paper sleeve is in very good condition. Mild crumpling only. NO seam splits. NO tears. NO stickers NO writing.

Overall this is a nice item to own. It plays very well.

Record Collector Magazine Grading System - VINYL

MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint

EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable

GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeable deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and or deface

POOR (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing
