THE BEATLES 'PLEASE PLEASE ME' 1963 MONO LP.

Has a 'ZKT' Tax code which is quite scarce.

 LP pressed in Great Britain and released on Parlophone PMC 1202.

A 1963 5th. pressing.

Yellow & Black Parlophone Label with "THE PARLOPHONE CO......" Rim text.

 NO "SOLD IN THE U.K......" statement.

Has "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963" .

 'ZKT' Tax code in the centre of the side 1 label. 

Matrix numbers etc:

Side 1: XEX 421 - 1N          1 above a 12     RRH.

Side 2:  XEX 422 - 1N          14           RAG.

Vinyl weighs in at 166g.

Has had quite a few plays as there are plenty of spider lines around the centre holes. 

When tilted under normal lighting both sides have a few surface marks/light scratches but none are deep or nasty.

Under halogen lights both sides have quite a few more light marks visible. 

Play grades as EX.

Plays very well. All musical/vocal passages play clearly & brightly. Has no sticks, skips or jumps and no evidence of groove wear. Also there were only a few isolated clicks/tics which are very quiet or muffled.

There is also light crackle in the run in/out areas and a little light surface noise between some tracks which has a couple of 'clicks' in two of the gaps between tracks on side 1. 

Front laminated 3-flipback E.J. Day & Co. Ltd. sleeve grades EX-.

Nice example. The spine text is in excellent condition. There are a few laminate creases and only a few small spots of bottom edge wear. The rear of the sleeve is clean and bright with very little age discolouration although there is a small ink mark next to one of the track titles. Also the edge of the bottom flipback has peeled back slightly at the end near the spine.

Poly-lined EMITEX inner grades as EX.

I dispatch records in brand new, bought in mailers designed for the process. Before placing in the mailer I take LPs out of the sleeve place both in a polysleeve and between two card stiffeners and if there is a picture sleeve I place the LP in a plain sleeve to prevent knifing of the picture sleeve. [all this costs £0.80/single LP].

I USE RECORD COLLECTOR GRADINGS AND USE A +/- WHERE I FEEL THAT IT'S APPROPRIATE.

(M) MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.

(EX) EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of being played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing.

(VG) VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

(G) GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

(F) FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

(P) POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

(B) BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
